The Canadian Society for Social Development (CSSD) is a federally funded non profit organization with charitable status. We conduct two free online programs for people with disabilities across Canada. You can get more info at www.cssd-web.org <http://www.cssd-web.org/>. On our CSSD website, under the info page we have the links/coding and logos.

The first program is the Internet Business Development for Entrepreneurs with Disabilities (IBDE). IBDE it is a three month college accredited web design course followed by a three month segment where participants put their new skills to work building a website under the guidance of their online instructors. Tuition grants are available for qualifying individuals.
(www.ibde.ca   http://www.ibde.ca/) This program is primarily funded by Office of Learning Technologies and we have an annual intake, with the next group scheduled to start in October 2006.

The second online program we offer is called the Business Abilities (BA) Program (www.businessabilities.ca <http://www.businessabilities.ca/>).
BA is an entrepreneurial training program that teaches any PWD that wants to explore self employment, how to research their business idea and build a business plan. Once the student has their BP created, our instructors review and critique it. When they are ready to establish their business we continue to offer one-on-one coaching and advanced business management modules to help them become successful. Student intake is continuous and is funded by the Opportunities Fund.

Both of our programs have online instructors that coach the students through instant text messaging and we also have a virtual classroom provided by Elluminate.com for group sessions on various topics.
